Choosing the left hand position - always be upfront on the melodic
lines, considering both bass and melody to find the right position.
Bass and melody fingers should move in the same direction on the
fretboard. The position should give possibility for sustaining and
bending a melody tone with one finger while shifting the bass tones
with the other fingers - to create the effect of two different sounding
instruments.
Use silence and rests extensively to create rhythmical diversity - in order to compensate for the natural physical limitations of this hybrid technique. |
